The 1968 Williamstown Library was demolished in late 2010. This event inspiring a poem by local Tony Codd:
One morning they came without warning. And in a moment it had gone to dust and rubble. This thing of beauty had stood for years. Did we mourn did we cry. Like the Phoenix it will rise again. From the ashes a new wonder. Will it pass the test of time. This new library will shine like a beacon in the night. Behold this new wonder and use it well.
